Auto INVITE

Post by xplora »

X has a new invite feature,to use it do the following:

Code: Select all

/msg X modinfo <#channel> INVITE [on|off]

Requires access in the channel.

This is a new personal channel setting, the first of it's kind, when turned on, upon login to X and if you have level 100+ access in the channel, X will also invite you to that channel, saving you the trouble of using /msg X invite #channel either yourself or via a script.

You can check what channel(s) you turned invite on for by checking your username info with:

Code: Select all

/msg X info <username>

And you will get an output similar to the following:
-X- Information about: xplora (317)
-X- Currently logged on via:
-X- xplora!~wakco@xplora.users.undernet.org
-X- Flags set: INVISIBLE LANG=EN INVITE
-X- LAST SEEN: 0 days, 00:00:45 ago.
-X- EMail: xplora@undernet.org
-X- Last Hostmask: xplora!~wakco@xplora.users.undernet.org
-X- Channels: #cservice (500), #UserNaMeS (450), #opschool (450), #arlington (250), #class (200)

As you can see, there is a new INVITE flag, as well as channels that are set for invite, will be in bold as above.

This is what our forum message system is made for, explo (or Seb.)

Otherwise, this post looks like plain old advertising to me.

xplo's script tip removed, mostly because if you have more than about 5 channels with invite set on, the resulting joins may cause your irc client to flood itself off irc/undernet.
