webchat

http://cgiirc.sourceforge.net/
here is a CGI script for connecting to IRC from the web without a Irc client (like mirc)... it would be nice to connect to UnderNet from a web browser.

Undernet has a webchat page. Just look up at the menu on this very page, click on Webchat. However, you can only join the 'select' channels that are posted there. So if you want to be able to join any channel on undernet via the web, check out http://irc.kuban.net/index.htm you have to add an undernet server in the box and type in the channel you want to go to. Be sure to click the English version if Russian is not your language. I find it works quite well.

even so, using the CGI webchat i am able to connect to another irc server, not undernet...

ovediu, try http://chat.rt.ru The page is from the former Moscow* Undernet server. If you click on "Advanced", you can configure more settings. Try it out. And once you're connected, you can join any channel by just typing /join #channel. Worth to try.

from what i understand and have experienced, the chat.rt.ru is down and not being replaced, due to attacks. they are working on another webchat hosting service at efnet. so far, as your "resident webhcat expert" i have been able to find three cgi or php clients on the web that connect to undernet. and except for the ru webchat, all have eventually refused my connection because i have no identd and am behind a proxy. i assume all the other public access users have to put up with this too. i am going to ask my library network damin to install identd.. and see if that helps.
in the mean time, i keep searching for new cgi or php undernet webchats to come up on google
you know you can even do
/mode #channel +b *!*@packet.kiddy.net even works! if your an op on the undernet webchat <g>    :satisfied: :vampire: :glasses:

I wouldn't blame people for giving up when they are attacked. They try to do something for the public, and some bastards reply by attacking them. That's pretty pathetic and silly.
