Lebanon Host

Post by Sunger »

Hello, am from lebanon , and in lebanon their to many users joins undernet.
As u know till now in lebanon their is no DSl , every 200 300 users are on 1 host , when a user needs to connect always finding (Too Many Connectiosn from this host) cause to many users using the same host.
wish from cservice to find an idea , or to increase the limit of connections/host.User are getting bnc's and paying money every month to connect to undernet and this is bad or using proxy to connect to Like "Hopster"
And not only lebanon , maybe their is others countries like this.
So if u find a solution People will join more , and save their money.
Wish a reply
Thanks

You mean by 1 host 1 ip?? That's crazy.
Also.. it would be a good idea to get someone rich in Lebanon to get a server hosted somewhere. And then link that to Undernet, and customize the server for Lebanese people, etc..

That's not even close to a solution, vigilante. If they all use 1 IP, it means the ISP is poor. You think they have enough bandwidth to run a server linked on a network like Undernet ? This is funny.

Nobody will allow 200-300 users from the same IP, Sunger. Not on Undernet, and not even on any other serious network. The right place to talk about your problem is your ISP (Internet Service Provider). If they don't have IPs then the only real solution is to pay for a proxy (for example: psyBNC, etc).

I think you are mistaken. You people are assigned different ip's but the truth is you people are using the same GATEWAY. Got me bro?

202.1.192.2 and 202.1.192.1 are maldivian gateway's which many maldivians have while browsing. but the truth is their actual ip begin with something like 203.* ;)

psybnc is not a proxy, its a bouncer used to hide your ip address. And i think the solution for this problem is to allow his Gateway more than 3 connections atleast.

Let's say that someone get a dedicated server from a good provider, from a datacenter and that person installs ircd on that server and it grants permilink to undernet. Then, he sets a limit of 400 connection only to the ip from lebanon. Well, that's useless, because even if that server will let 200 users to connect from the same ip, uworld won't do the same thing.
The only way is to conctact your isp and tell him that you want a real ip, or, you can continue to use proxy or psybnc

I dont think there is a GATEWAY which can hold more than 200+ connections from different IP's. and in one way you are right The-Judge, allowing this many connections for 1 lebanese Ip would be really stupid.

note:- I didnt mean to say 200 connections for that ip, what i meant was atleast more than 3. around 3-5 can be no much harm.

There is already a Lebanese IRC network and listed on servers.ini that has increased the clones number. so this issue is solved for the lebanese that wishes to chat on IRC.

Now regarding Undernet DALnet EFnet or any other big network, its impossible to do so.

What if u need to gline a lamer that lives in the same area? Wont u gline him because 300 others are using his ip? naa

or Lets say #Lebanon has 50 users with the same ip, and one say **** on main, the eggdrop will get them all banned.

So increasing the limit will only increase the problems

what is what happening now, if any watch a lebanese channel like #Leb or #Lebanon , u will see that every 10 till 15 mins, there is a g-line , Too many connections.
By the way, i think that 30 to 40% of undernet users are lebanese.
We were wating DSL, as now it should be done, thats means every will have his prv ip, bas after that war , it will take about 5 years to be done, thats realy ugly. so stafano the best why is to increase the limit for 5 years.
By the way almost all lebanese shell companies are down , cause no one have money to payu after that war
Admin take that subject in serious.
Thanks alot

first, Lebanese constitute less then 1% of the undernet users.
you can check searchirc.com , gogloom.com or netsplit.de so u get an idea how big undernet is, and how few lebanese are.

second, listening to you, lebanon sounds like ethiopia where people are starving. beirut is still the 53rd most expensive city of the planet, people can still afford to money to pay 3$ a month for a bouncer.

you may ask cityshells's admin which is the biggest lebanese shell company, he will tell you that the problem is the resselers (and not the users) that are not paying using the war as pretext so they gain few more dollars.

third, regarding the DSL, it wont take 5 years but within few months, its there. the country's infrastructure as bridges, ports, airports, roads.. got hit not the underground fiberoptic cables.
