X not responding

Post by special »

Some months ago people started having problems with X . They were saying that they can log in to X@channels.undernet.org , but they did not get any reply from commands or X responding to commands like op,voice,kick or other . They have been checked in the X ignore list but they were not in ignore list. So there for some other things were tried. Cleared client's ignore list , disabled scripts , reinstalling mIRC (latest version),connecting to other UnderNet servers and nothing seemed to be solving the problem.For those who had a bouncer (to some clients) connecting with the real ip on a normal IRC window seemed to be worked , but not for all.Altough , realising that they managed to log in was something, X did log in the users.So the temporary solution was to tell the clients with this issue to work with X trough '' /msg x@channels.undernet.org command ''

The question is : Is there someone that is trying to solve this problem or at least if they know about (the coders) ?

Best Regards

you can solve that problem in two ways:

1. to change your undernet server ( www.undernet.org/servers.php )
2. to add into remote this:

on *:INPUT:*: { if (($1 == /msg) && ($2 = x) && ($3- != $null)) { msg x@channels.undernet.org $3- | halt } }

I believe Special wanted to know when the coders might fix the problem.

Not a work-around.

Or at least a word from the coders that they are aware of the problem.

To the best of our knowledge this is not a server issue, but in fact an issue with mIRC (we are yet to hear any reports of this problem from anyone using any other irc clients).

Until another irc client shows this issue there isn't really anything that can be done from the server side. :(

It should also be noted that any scripts should use the full address anyway to avoid multiple issues with things like different networks etc, this is why the login command requires being sent to the full x@channels.undernet.org address.
