* Topic is 'Undernet Website and Forums Support channel. Let us know your opinion here or at http://forum.undernet.org/viewtopic.php?t=2182 '
* Set by Eenie on Thu Mar 02 05:58:39

That`s the topic.

The topic is always set in the channel. But if you are connected to a sever that has been in split and it doesn`t have desynch activated you won`t be able to see it....We`ll try to refresh the server more often.

As for the part about idled users, what did you expect? Did you ask a question and none of the ops replyed to you? I think not...

I'd like to gratefully acknowlede Simba's hard work all put in the forums and the http://www.undernet.org page. I had seen there is an "Undernet staff of the year" section, but I found it locked, so I hereby would like to acknowledge Simba for all the effort put in this wonderful page as is http://www.undernet.org and at the same time encourage him to keep up with the great work he has been doing so far. For me he is the Undernet staff of the year.

Let's cheer him on and help him with our suggestions, constructive and positive criticism, ideas and attitude to make this site the best.

its definitely a good idea, dohhhhhhhhhhh
But some people might be like, why isnt #Undernet used for the same purpose? It could be, but if one wants to prevent much chaos or what/ever, i guess a different channel seems suitable.

Yes good point, this might be a problem as at the channel url #undernet has set http://www.undernet.org.

Announcement: The channel #undernet is not in any way supported by any network committee and has nothing to do with the website or the forum. In other words it`s not an official channel.

I think this idea of create a channel to support http://www.undernet.org is a "stupid idea" from people who are here everyday moderating this forum and maybe they want to make this website & forum more usefull.
Do you think undernet users are insterested in http://www.undernet.org ? i don't think so.
why undernet users need help with http://www.undernet.org & http://forum.undernet.org ?
As you can see #www.undernet.org is useless people are not interested only people with access in channel is in channel.
Please stop creating "Official Channels" there are a lot

Good Luck!!

My english isn't so good but i hope you understand!!

At some point I agree with your comment and at some I don`t.

It depends how you look at the situation..

It is true that there are a lot of forum moderators/undernet staff/.../ which regularly check the forum`s activity, posts , questions, issues ... which are answered promptly everytime by more than one person, in this case the channel would lose it`s use.

On the other hand, by joining the channel someone would receive exact and complex answers, being able to clarify his/her issues instantly.

I personally am 50/50 with the need/use/purpose of the channel as the majority using this forum are representing different Undernet teams/projects able to provide prompt answers and solutions to any thread/question posted here.

Note:

#www.undernet.org is not just another generic help channel, it does not help with the same thing you can get help with on the forums.

#www.undernet.org provides help with issues related to the 2 websites at http://www.undernet.org/ and http://forum.undernet.org/

Examples:

If you come to #www.undernet.org asking for help with say channel services help, they will redirect you to #cservice or the channel service help section of the forum, because they do not provide that kind of help.

If you come to #www.undernet.org asking for help with your forum username then you will be helped on that channel with your forum username, because they do provide this kind of help.
