(Too many connections from your host) error driving me nuts!

Post by aphinity »

For the last 6 months or longer, I have been unable to connect to undernet for all but the most rare of occasions. Each time, with each client or software (including the undernet java client and other ones), on every operating system, on each undernet server I've tried, I get the following error:

Closing Link: MyNickName by Zagreb.HR.Eu.UnderNet.org (Too many connections from your host)

(no, this is not the only server I've used. It's just an example)

I have come to realize that this has to do with my ISP's hostname configuration, but here's the problem. I'm on static IP addresses! No matter what IP I use out of my block of 6, I have the same problem, since they all have very similar hostnames.

Is there anyone I can contact to put my hostname on a whitelist? I haven't been able to reach my friends for months, and it's really frustrating!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Means there are allready to many connections from your host.
If u say that have static connection, maybe u got a gtbot running hidden.
Thats the first thing that bursted from my mind....

I'd agree, except this happens no matter what computer I use to connect, and they all have different IP addresses too. It's driving me nuts :( There has to be some kind of answer...

<edit> Hmm.. interestingly, my laptop is able to connect now. Time to look into this bot issue...

If you ask me they shouldn't doit by them self, they could cause harm to their pc .... if trainee's need time to learn it ... imagine letting an avarage user to do a gtbot removal by him self .... :classic:
