This doesn't belong here, it should be moved to General/IRC help as it's not related to X/registered channels.
This should be an interesting topic.

Very interesting indeed, but yes I agree that the topic should probably be moved.

topic moved with ghost left

Note: Chanfix "C" deals only with Unregistered channels, Channel Services can't help with unregistered channels, they can only help with Registered channels.

We all know Chanfix is handy. They did a great work.
This topic was about questions related to Chanfix, as far as I recall.

I understand there is a new scoring system for ChanFix either in the works or already functioning, which keeps score longer than the past 2 weeks, relying on "first opped date," making it more fair in that those with 24/7 connections are not favored as much as before.

Could someone who knows all the details about these changes please share the information? Please don't post if you are not sure of your answers. I really would like all of us to learn about the changes, not the rumors.

(http://www.user-com.undernet.org/documents/chanfix.php has not been updated to reflect any changes.)

Thanks,
Eenie

it's operational, except the new REQUESTOPS command which is to be implimented sometime in the near future, and has been talked about in another thread -> viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9451#p32868

Well, xplora, unfortunately that does not answer my question. I am aware of the topic you cite, and my answer(s) are not there either.

I am asking,
I understand there is a new scoring system for ChanFix either in the works or already functioning, which keeps score longer than the past 2 weeks, relying on "first opped date," making it more fair in that those with 24/7 connections are not favored as much as before.
Could someone who knows all the details about these changes please share the information?

I am not asking about the new REQUESTOPS command at all. Just about how the new scoring system works so the users are informed.

I do hope someone who knows this information will share it here with us.

to quote the specific post at viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9451#p32868 ...

xplora wrote:...
The new algorithm works something like existing system (1 point for every 5 minutes opped to a max based on being opped solidly for 2 week) + 100 points for each day since first being opped to a max 60 days (I think it's 60 days), this is roughly how it works, you would have to look at the open source code to be sure. ...

While I am still not sure about the specific number of days, the rest was more accurate than I realised when I made that post. I was not trying to refer to the REQUESTOPS command in my previous post except as to discount it in the post I was referring to, so where in my previous post did I not answer your question?

Your answer sounded like you were not sure of the details, and just could tell us "roughly" how it works.
I am looking for the whole explanation, the whole ball of wax, man! ;-p

But thanks for answering.
