If Undernet didn't have enough luck getting ISP admins to answer such issues, perhaps you as a paying customer should complain about this ISP-wide ban to your ISP administrators. Something tells me that they will reply "we only support web surfing and e-mail, no other services." Do you have trouble ...

Banning is most certainly NOT desired. However, when you see that the ISP doesn't read e-mails, doesn't have an abuse policy, doesn't even care if someone is using their connection to abuse Undernet, all you can do to protect the network is to ban the entire ISP. Blame the incompetent administrators...

A month has passed and the response from Undernet officials is just overwhelming, as you all can see. Silence is also a very loud and clear answer. Thank you for your interest in an old Undernetter's opinions and suggestions for putting a stop to illegal activities on this network. Thank you ...

Please post the message you get when you try to connect to Undernet. If it says something about installing ident, then you will need to configure the router to forward connections on port 113, TCP protocol. The Ident server in your mIRC will tell the IRC server when you connect to it that you're act...

You could also use $comchan to find the channel in which both you and the nickname are in. Kick needs a channel name; the on join event has the $chan identifier, but the raw event doesn't.

Yes, community matters more than individuals. For example, the community creates laws and puts bad people in prison so they cannot harm the rest of the community. On Undernet, the priority for a larger community over the personal desire of some users for a nickname registration system means that the...

Undernet administrators made this decision a long time ago. One of the reasons for NOT using a nickname registration service was that a nickserv for such a large network needs a lot of resources, in terms of network connection, computer speed and so on. All servers which compose Undernet are donated...

This is one of the things you don't write on a CV/resume: I like animals/to travel/to read books/to listen to music/to go to the movies/to take walks/to go out and so on. Everybody likes to do these things. What's the point of this thread? I doubt anyone will post to say "I don't like animals" or "I...

Yes: teach people to stop double-clicking such links because that will infect their computers, teach people to be responsible computer owners and update their Windows once a month, and so on. Don't blame only the virus authors for the spam we receive every day; blame people's stupidity. Too many peo...

Worldwide statistics prove that most spam originates from American IPs - it may seem strange to you, but there are sooooo many companies for "e-mail marketing" over there. The second source for spam is Asia, where most insecure computer networks exist. Spammers usually find an open proxy with a fast...

I report spam directly to the sender's ISP as well as sender's domain administrator. The anti-spam law in Romania is Act no. 365 of June 7 2002. Chapter 2 article 6 says that sender must have recipient's prior consent for receiving such commercial messages, and the sender must identify itself with c...

My vehicle is a bicycle. Extra wide 24" wheels with all-terrain tires, works great in downtown traffic - I always squeeze through the lines at the traffic light and get across the intersection first. It's not difficult to find a parking spot and I don't have to pay for parking. It's very efficient, ...

There's nothing funny about it. Just one more lamer whose only purpose on IRC is to get access somewhere. This one chose to fake his identity to do that, which makes him a bigger lamer than others. The channel manager who gives access based on how much he likes a person rather than how good a person...
