Topic: [General] Mass kill by a Undernet Hub.

Bad hub settings. Kills everyone whose nickname is longer than 9 characters. It's a temporary problem, if it becomes annoying change your nickname so it doesn't exceed 9 characters until the administrators of that hub fix the problem.

[later edit] All working fine now :)

Some forums are simply more selective than others :) This one is for the masses. That extreme registration method, with application e-mail and recommendation from existing user was on two forums for highly trained professionals in software development and audio specialists; even to me it sounds extr...

I meant that these actions were not applied heavily. I've seen forums where a bad message was usually deleted within 5 minutes after being posted, and people getting banned a lot faster than here. I've seen forums where registration is possible only by invitation from a current member, and after the...

To have a spell checker built into the forum, it must exist as a piece of software on the server. phpBB forum doesn't have a built-in spell checker, and so far I haven't heard of a forum software which does. So, to get such a function into this forum, one programmer (or more, probably) needs to writ...

So far, messages weren't deleted and people weren't banned because moderators and administrators are taking a relaxed position towards forum activity. Unfortunately, some of the users cannot be reasonable and abuse this situation; instead of learning to behave, they chat with each other or post nons...

Can you find a freeware/GNU-license-type phpBB add-on, or write one?

(Requirements for reading this: snacks, drinks, comfortable chair, eventually some background music, and 10 minutes of your time. ;) ) You are wrong in assuming that you don't need any knowledge to get online. There are rules here which people should know about, for example you have learned that it'...

home.ro/go.ro administrators have promptly answered my e-mails in the past. In the future, send them an e-mail to abuse@rdsnet.ro and ask them to investigate the account and delete the file. As I post this message, the "invite" account with all its files have been deleted by the administrators alrea...

Then the problem is, again, that the wrong people were given access to the channel.

Why didn't the channel manager set strictop and massdeoppro? Those are MINIMUM requirements for any responsible manager to protect his channel against lame "takeovers" (can't be a takeover since the X bot remains there). If you think you can do a better job, join the coder committee and work on impr...

Undernet has changed in time, while Microsoft Chat client hasn't. That program is about 8 years old, it was not updated or maintained or even included in newer Windows versions. As it was a part of Windows 95 and 98, whose technical support from Microsoft ended about a month ago, it means that the a...

Daca ai venit sa improsti cu noroi, tocmai ti-ai scris in frunte "lamer". Daca aveti reteaua voastra, ce mai cautati pe Undern...

Gee, thanks for the unsolicited advertising, and for not providing a "skip" button in plain HTML to skip the Flash introduction without having to load it!
