xplora: I have never seen #usernames topic reflect the open/closed status of username registration. On the other hand, almost always, the #CService topic mentions which (username or channel) registration is open or closed. In fact, at this moment, #username topic is: "#usernames Welcome to #Username...

"I was kicked/banned from a channel with X /on it for no reason, who can I complain to?" The CSC and Undernet have no reponsibility for, nor say over how a manager, and those he gives operator status to, choose to run the channel. A channel operator can kick and/or ban someone for any reason they ch...

Two out of seven in the list were NOT Undernet related.

(I don't think Fluffy (the bunny) is Undernet related.)
Next thing ya know, people will be posting about everything in this thread.

Let's stay on track, ok?

I think you misunderstood the topic of this thread.
It is about posting things you will never forget about Undernet,
not life in general.

To find a channel of your interest, type /list *keyword*
You will see channels listed that have your keyword in the topic or channel name, if any exist. To join a channel, you simply type /join #channelname.

Hope this answered your question.

I will always remember

I remember... My first day on IRC and someone tried to DCC chat me; I thought they were trying to hack me! I remember... The first Undernet Newsletter... The Undernet Newsletter (Vol. I, 9/96) I remember... Most Undernet users were experienced and knowledgeable computer users, not newbies. I remembe...

Correction, SirAndrew

SirAndrew:
Although I change my quit message occasionally, I believe the one you are referring to read: "Welcome to IRC where the men are women, the women are men and all the kiddies are FBI agents."

Great sentiment

But does this really meet the criteria of the Undernet Forum? Does it have anything to do with the Internet and/or Undernet?
I am afraid to say.... NO

However, we all thank you for your sentiment.

This topic will probably be deleted. Please read the AUP.
