I will tell you why not. What if the channel manager doesn't want the users who can get voice, be autovoiced on join ? What if the channel manager doesn't want ops to be autoopped on join ? If this idea is implemented, users will have the word over the manager regarding autovoice/autoop. Not a good ...

Well, that's a good point, X does see joins so an option that would set defined modes on mass join (which would be a defined value too - number of joins per xx seconds) is not a big deal like filtering messages.

Blame some of the server admins that don't run BOPM and pxys, the proxy bots connect to their servers. The glines issued for proxy connections are local. So that's the issue.

Using psyBNC or not it really doesn't matter. Just go to mIRC options (Alt+O), IRC, Options, and check mark "Hide ping? pong! event". That's it.

/mode nick +x works with mIRC..but there are other irc clients/scripts which don't accept that command, and you need to use the other i gave the guy Wrong, "/mode nickname +x" works on any decent IRC client, but that "//.mode $me +x" doesn't work because it's using a mIRC alias ...
