Re: Become a Moderated Network

There are many sides to this story. The choice to go moderated versus non-moderated is not one to be taken lightly. I do not think anyone would disagree with removing the obviously illegal channels and potentially those who control them. The issue is honestly how to state what you really want to do ...

Re: Undernet - What can we do to protect the network?

"You need aproval from X, from Y from Z .. i mean CMON wtf? since it was official why do i need an aproval for translating an document and other lame things ....." Fair enough, not a team player, I understand. Thank you for your greatness. We should all aspire to be like you. "And i n...

Re: Undernet - What can we do to protect the network?

Ah, But yet you are still here. So obviously you see something in the network. I have been looking through the posts. And see even you have dropped the ball saying you would do the UUS project, and then let the community down. I understand your issues. I have been around for a couple of years myself...

Re: Undernet - What can we do to protect the network?

You can't do nothing. PERIOD. See it is ideas like this which rot the very nature of helping. To say we can do nothing is not true. Many people in all aspects of UnderNet from users to opers to admins to C Service representatives, can do things to help. First of all stay out of those channels, don'...

Re: Undernet Drones

You had my support until this last post. I will continue with my research and investigation and help of the group finding solutions to the issues. But I will not be viewing this thread anymore. I do not do well with threats from either the "good" or the "bad" side of things. -- D...

Re: Undernet Drones

Ok I have been doing my research as I said I would do. I have joined some drone channels, and acutally been blocking some botnets off of my own network. Here is what I see. Most everyone, admins, opers, users, and little people like me all want the drones stopped. Here is what you do not see. You do...

Morky, Not all channels are friendly ones. In fact a lot aren't. I know I personally hang out on a few channels that are not really public channels. Do we make them invite only? Nope, we just ban those who we don't want there. For newcomers like yourself it can be harsh. But stick with it, find your...

A Supposed Undernet Founder to #Wasteland

Ok just a few moments ago, a fella came on #wasteland wanting some help. What transpired is so funny. The log has been edited to remove other people's chatting and such not relevant to the conversation. I have also *'d the bad language. Enjoy. *** Harry___ (~ghghghrer@dxb-as19143.alshamil.net.ae) ha...

I will always remember

I will always remember..... .... The Start of UnderNet .... The time when there were more servers and bots than users. .... The decision to include time stamps on modes to avoid net split ops. .... The loss of dear friends brought to me from UnderNet. .... The gain of dear friends brought to me from...

This really boils down to using the tools at your disposal. For example, I hang out in a channel. This channel is not an open channel. It is not a chat channel, it is our channel. There is no key, and no +i. BUT, only those we permit shall stay. If you join just for the sake of joining you will be k...

To be honest, it is not that difficult to have a client do what you ask.
Personally I use a /away, which I am all the time.

If you are adding a script, you add it once and leave it.
I still have scripts from 1995 that I am using in my irc client.
