Ircle commands

We have a user using IRCLE for MAC having difficulties to login to X and activate mode X. Would someone be nice enough to convert these 2 lines into IRCLE commands: /msg x@channels.undernet.org login <username> <password> //mode $me +x Also, is there a feature in IRCLE which would do what the "...

Maintenance of X banlist

Presently, it is impossible to extend an existing ban which is in X banlist without removing it first. If you try to do so, you'll get the following message: "-X (cservice@undernet.org)- Specified ban is already in my banlist!". Being able to extend a ban would make the maintenance of X ba...

Re: autoset /mode $me +x

If you are using mIRC, this can be easily achieved by using the option "Perform"

msg x@channels.undernet.org login <username> <password>
mode $me +x

Re: Channels fail to update

Have you loaded any scripts, willingly or not?

Use command: /remote off

This turns off all scripts and see if you still have the problem.

Re: Possible glitch in X

What this thread taught me was that a DNS lookup was done at one point in time and that X could see through the 3 addresses. Nevertheless,The possibility of desynch does answer several questions I still had. Explora, thank you for setting the record straight.

Re: Possible glitch in X

gemeau, Zircon's answer was perfectly accurate, X also checks the DNS of the IP before issuing the ban. I have conducted a few tests on this, and it's the same for every user i've tried. Wolfyx I was so convinced that "DNS" had nothing to do with this matter, that I didn't even considered...

Re: Possible glitch in X

Revival, tx for participating to this thread. What you just explained, I knew it all. Other than the DNS issue, the topics raised by other partys were discussed over and over in this forum. That's all, anything else ? Yes, what about coming back to the original issue - the glitch I was taking about....

Re: Possible glitch in X

For the problem of X keeping kicking without banning, a possible cause can be that you reached the banlimit of 300 bans through X. Here is the channel stats for the same period. [23:50] channelname (+tnl 160) : [m/155 o/5 h/0 v/0 n/150 b/59 e/- I/-] [23:55] channelname (+tnl 157) : [m/149 o/5 h/0 v...

Re: Possible glitch in X

You would like me to believe that X is resolving a host/domain to an IP before reacting. I don't believe so. But, let say you were right, there is possibly a worst problem. X and the Undernet servers don't treat addresses the same way since the user was able to join the channel after the time the ba...

Possible glitch in X

We set the following ban in X: *!*@83.18?.* But X triggered the ban against the following address but could'nt keep the user out. [23:52:45] * nick (~userid@d83-189-172-145.cust.tele2.ch) has joined channel [23:52:45] * X sets mode: +b *!*@83.18?.* [23:52:45] * nick was kicked by X ((username) flood...

upload info to X w/o flooding

We decided to use X in our fight against flooders. We recorded a list of all bans we put into X banlist into a text file. Since we don’t intend to let those bans expired, we will have to remove and re-enter them at a certain point in time. At that time, I’ll have to re-enter about 60 bans which ...
