You could try the generic us.undernet.org server and let it retry connecting until you find a server that will take you in.

I happen to be an RR customer myself and I've had this exact problem before. Interestingly enough, I always end up connecting to a European server.

Already using a Tcl script for the job. However, that doesn't help much because it is a curative, and seldom a preventive, script. It bans only *after* the drone has hit (which is roughly 17 lines later). Consider how easy it is for a typical script-kiddie to trojan only five computers on the Intern...

As for the banmask ????[*!*@* this will ban all five-character-long nicks that end in an open bracket OR an open brace.

I believe ircu treats brackets "[]"as the "lower-case" form of braces "{}". Since banmask matching is case-insensitive ("A" is the same as "a"), I cannot think of a way to differentiate between these characters at the banmask level.

Although some servers are still running .04, several have updated to .06-pre3. On those servers, the bug has gone away.
