I appreciate your efforts and the fact that you care. Many of those who were supposed to be in charge of this thing don't. It's so much easier to type "no" than getting out of the chatrooms to do some constructive work for the network. I'm tired of the excuses, too. "Freedom of speech...

Thanks for the reply, Etherfast As I understand, the Documents team is involved in managing the contents of the CService site. I'm looking forward to the new documents to show up instead of that "latest news" from 1999, IIRC. But, what if the CService site has some functional problems, if ...

Satisfy my curiosity, please? Let's assume there's a person which needs help with his or her computer and just can't think of joining obvious channels such as #computers or #computerhelp or even #help. What makes you think the person will suddenly have a flash of divine inspiration and think, "...

CService site, continued

Even that xplora no longer sees the point of this thread , I still did not receive a satisfactory answer to the main question of the thread: Who deals with problems related to the CService website? And at this time I would like to make an official complaint against xplora continuously locking thread...

Yes, it's a good security measure. But that's not the point of this thread. The point is that people are passed around from one channel to another and that nobody is taking responsibility for the CService website. Please read again the questions in the first post of the discussion thread.

Sorry Dooku , but I believe you are wrong. Let me explain by analogy: assume you use your index finger to push buttons on your computer, on the phone and in the elevator. Suddenly, nothing happens when you push the elevator buttons, but pushing computer and telephone buttons works. What is deffectiv...

it only happens to be that you only see it on the website. Then it is a setting for the web interface that blocks a certain number of incorrect logins, correct? Consequently, it is a website issue, as it only appears on the website, correct? So it is not related to normally using the username on IR...

Yeah, it looks like someone loves to have the final word in each conversation, and also makes sure he does.

Is the CService site abandoned?

To quote from an earlier message , #cservice deals with questions regarding X and registered channels, and #usernames helps with username-related issues. Who deals with problems related to the CService website, then? Apparently, #cservice isn't the place for this. It is their site, but not their pro...

"Never" is a long time. 20 bucks that you'll be proven wrong.

I have been using Astral for 2 1/2 years from Cluj Napoca, with the DNS servers there and the direct Internet connection through Telia, not going through the equipment in Bucharest. And, except for SanJose.CA.US.Undernet.org, all other Undernet servers resolve to the IP of Bucharest.RO.EU.Undernet.o...

Actually, both Astral-UPC and RDS' DNS servers point almost all Undernet servers to bucharest.ro.eu.undernet.org. But, access to the other servers is not actually restricted; they are simply hidden, because the ISPs' DNS servers resolve all hosts to the same IP. This happens for another reason than ...

Hmmm, interesting idea... How about a T-shirt with the message, "I have kick-banned Kelinflip, too" - that should be pretty popular.
