It will not work for all channels, once you give the user voice they can send spam using cprivmsg and not worry about the target flood limit. Hopefully they will change that and allow only ops to use that command.

The channel should have not been left unmoderated with a noop flag. On a public IRC network with over 100.000 users floods should be expected. RIP Jail.

Yes, let’s stop improving undernet because it taxes the servers. And what’s that un-moderated status you are talking about? Those modes would help channels that need them, it’s not like we ask that those modes be set by default, if channels ops want them, they should be able to use them. And w...

I don't see what’s all this fuss over, in the end Eenie found out what he wanted. The user should have been told to join #cservice and ask there about it. If #cservice redirects him to #usernames, that’s their business and rules. I think this subject has been milked enough :)

The first time I connected to an irc server was on the undernet network in '98. That year was also the first time I connected to the internet using a dial-up account.
