Re: A few issues! Hopefully you can help :D

Please note that here we only support the releases written by coder-com. Third party modifications to our software are to be supported by that third party.

In short, I'd contact the author of that particular release.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

IAUTH functionality is being looked at and parts of it are being tested for use with ircu. GNUWorld is being patched to support it too. With the current structure we're looking at, authentication requests shouldnt bog things down too badly :)

Will it make its way to undernet? Who knows.

Those notices (SELECT queries) are automated, they execute every so often to get web notices for the bot itself. So dont worry about those, they arent errors, they're debug logs. As for the unavailability, you'll need to troubleshoot. Is it saying locally (L) or remotely (R) at the end of the error ...

Ok, Before we over-dramatize and think "OMG!! THIS IS THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT" you should probably keep in mind that we are saying things like this FROM EXPERIENCE. There are certain load issues that this would pose. We have to think of ways to solve these issues before we just ...

There is a login on connect feature (undernet does not have this enabled) that allows you to identify with services when connecting by specifying a username and password as server arguments (since irc servers have the ability to lock people out that dont have the correct password)

Yeah sure.... lets just pound X's database with new user hits. Then once the service is ddosed offline, NOONE can connect. *great* plan....

This type of implementation (login on connect) would only work successfully if services are server-side (distributed services).

Errors on the production X (on undernet) are most likely in the source code aswell, so both need to be changed. undermaster you can use the report section of sourceforge at m or you can correct the language SQL file yourself off the CVS repository accessible via our project page at sourceforge. I ca...

heh look at the date and see how old it is. So NO you arent running the current CVS version. Refer to the gnuworld howto and itll tell you everything about setting up gnuworld properly, including having the latest CVS versions of it.

The two above posts could very well be possible. This bug is not entirely reproducable since +r is set many times a day on other channels and works just fine. But if it is a code error, we probably would have noticed it by now. If there are any more steps you can include to reproduce it, let us know.

Is it the latest CVS checkout? and what distro/gcc version are you using? (gcc -v for GCC versions)

I cant do test compilations for a few more days.
