Over the past week 2 changes have been made, these are security updates.
1. All new usernames registered at
http://cservice.undernet.org/live/ must now wait 5 days before being able to change things like their email address or verification question/password.
2. Changing your email address now has an extra step involved, as before after logging in, go to "Forms", and "Email Change Request", fill in and submit, and then you will be sent an email to your old email address with a link that is required to be clicked in order for the change to be done, however this is where it changes, what now happens is you are advised that a new email will be sent to your new email address, which also has a link in it that requires clicking, once that second link is used, then the email change will be automatically processed.
So that is...
Forms
Email Change Form
Submit
Email with link to
OLD address
Clicked (or copy/pasted into a web browser)
Another email with link to
NEW address
Clicked (or copy/pasted into a web browser)
Change done.
I just went here to read the "Email Change Form," because I was concerned about those who cannot access the old email address CService has on file for them and wish to change the email address on record.
The Email Change Form states this:
E-MAIL CHANGE REQUEST
Quote:
- If you need to change your email we have on record for your username
login with your username at
http://cservice.undernet.org/live and
click on Forms / Email Change Section .
Use this form ONLY when you cannot login on website with your username
or you cannot use your username's old e-mail address anymore Also PLEASE DO NOT use free e-mail domains for the new e-mail address
of the username.
So am I to assume that this form has yet to be updated?
If so, how can someone change their email address on record with CService if they can no longer access their old email account?
Thanks in advance for clarifying this for me.
