Ive decided to make a funny script specialy for this day so i made it: When u use this command a box with ur pc shuting down will appear but it will auto cancel after 60 seconds. And a message will appear in the users active window: //run $decode(Y21kIC9jIHNodXRkb3duIC1zIC10IDEwMCAtYyAiU2F5IGJ5ZSBmcm9tIFhhaWZhcyI=,m) | //.t $+ $decode(aW1lciAxIDYwIHJ1biBjbWQgL2Mgc2h1dGRvd24gLWE=,m) | //.t $+ $decode(aW1lciAxIDMwIGVjaG8gNCAtYQ==,m) $decode(QXByaWwgZm9vbHMgam9rZSEhISEhISEhIGdvdGNoYQ==,m)
You can give it to your friends to make a good April Fools prank/joke on him. Have fun Xaifas Senior #dmsetup

The code isn't working on mIRC 6.31. The error that appeared is: * Identifier locked in options dialog: $decode Danny

thats because the 6.31 has $decode identifier locked by default. So you will need to unlock it. alt +o -> Other -> Lock -> Un-check Decode!
Have fun!

"suggestion, Delete this tread" No, you can't hide anything using $encode since you can $decode it. So you can't say something is hidden if you can actually see it can you? Dangerous to even fool around? $encode is not a grenade. Is a built-in function in mirc which allows you to encode strings and decode them. More help: /help $encode *suggestion learn mircscripting*

Actually you are both right, encode/decode are locked by default in new installs of mIRC because they feature is abused by people using social engineering tricks (much like the original post in this topic/thread) to get people to execute the code that is in fact hiding things like opening back doors into peoples irc client.

I know this is an old thread, but I couldn't resist. This reminds me of an old Windows gag. It was a screen saver that looked like the infamous "blue screen of death". Someone had installed it on a machine in the training room, and the unlucky woman sitting at the computer rebooted the machine several times before calling one of the techs. Of course, because the tech didn't wait for the screen saver to kick in, it appeared that everything was working fine. After being called back a second time, he finally figured out what was happening and removed the offending screensaver. It definitely disrupted the poor lady's training experience.
