May I add... LOTS of time.
Seems it takes forever for anything to be done!!! ( no matter how many volunteers they accept or decline)

mIRC's continued versions and changes, its security issues plus the real life demanding activities of the project manager has caused this project to be currently stagnant. However, this project is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, trustable and knowledgeable mIRC scripters who can share their spare time to code a reliable, secure, effective and userfriendly script for Undernet's mIRC users to use in their chat sessions.
Visit http://www.user-com.undernet.org/uus or email uus@undernet.org to ask for more details regarding this project.
If you master another widely used IRC client with scripting capabilities, you might also want to be involved here. (Xchat, irsii, Bersirc, etc)
Thank you very much for your concern and sorry for the nuisances this may have caused.
Carlos

Does that estimate include a decent number of backdoors and floodbot scripts and such? Also, do you know where the actual programming tasks are in the chain of steps of a software development project? Have you ever heard of "project management?" Too bad they don't teach this in school, every kind who knows a bit of scripting or coding thinks that writing a *good* program means opening the source editor. And it's WRONG.

mIRC scripting does not require project management, unless... unless your brain is VERY VERY small. I might need about 2 or three extra days if I must use dlls, hash tables or sockets. There should be a website and some polls for ppl to publish their addons for this UUS thingie.

If you plan to work in the software industry, for your own sake I hope that you will come to better senses before you apply for a job Otherwise, your boss, the project manager, will not enjoy being called a pea-brained by a junior programmer with limited skills in coding and no sense of the big picture or what makes software sell.
Anyways, enough talk without results. If you or anyone else can donate your time and knowledge to transpose the script specfications and requirements into safe code, to make your code work along with other add-on scripts, and to work as a member of a team in which your piece of code must work together with someone else's piece of code, go ahead and announce your availability for the project. Just stop bragging about what you could do, but you won't.
