Anyone here manage to do a make install for ircu on FreeBSD 5.3?

I get the following:

gnuworld@rimouski-undernet$ make install
test -d /home/gnuworld || mkdir /home/gnuworld
Installing doc...
cd . && (test -d /home/gnuworld/man/man8 || mkdir /home/gnuworld/man/man8 || mkdir -p /home/gnuworld/man/man8) 2> /dev/null && /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 ircd.8 /home/gnuworld/man/man8
Installing ircd...
Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting "fi")
*** Error code 2

Stop in /usr/home/gnuworld/ircu2.10.11.07/ircd.
*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/home/gnuworld/ircu2.10.11.07.

I compiled on FreeBSD 5.3 with no problems. Make sure you use gmake.

As mentioned above, you need to use GNU make, and not make.

it should also be noted that freebsd is NOT linux. while most would call both a unix variant (except possibly those who own the name unix), they are very different, and yes coder-com recommends freebsd over linux.
