Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure if this idea has been mentioned before. After searching for it I didn't find it, so if it has I apologise.
The idea I want to suggest is added functionality to the existing cservice website.
Such as the ability to remove bans by clicking a [ remove ] button next to the ban, providing your access level is sufficient.
The ability to suspend and unsuspended providing the user has sufficient access.
The ability to set descriptions, keywords and topics.
The ability to change channel settings, such as the limit features or strict-op or no-op mode.
The ability to add / remove users from the website interface. I recently read a topic on some channel admins having to remove lots of users added after a take-over attempt. I support the responsible manager version of this however I think the feature is a good added value.
Im not an expert PHP MySQL programmer, however from what I understand the basic concept behind it would be similiar to what cservice already has with the exception of more options.

CService Admins can do that but at every force they made a channel log is added, if this will be ok for users i don't think it shoud be with channel logs, i don't think undernet has the needed bandwith for this.

This is not an official answer...
I believe gnuworld has those features, however Undernets CService has them disabled due to loading concerns.

Bandwidth or Server load?
The idea isn't much helpful but the purpose is to make it more user-friendly.

Hi LordPimp,
LordPimp wrote: Im not an expert PHP MySQL programmer, ... GNUWorld uses PostgreSQL as a backend, not MySQL. Anyway, via the cservice web interface can be changed the following settings: mod.CService wrote: * No Purge * Special * No Register * Channel Suspension * Temp Manager * Cautioned * Manager on vacation * Channel Locked Strict Op No Op Auto Topic Auto Join Mass Deop Protection Flood Protection Channel Homepage Description Keywords Saved channel modes and, Adding a user to the channel
So, GNUWorld already has that, but it's disabled for normal users for some reason.
Best Regards,
Mit.

well, i think it would be usefull to add those functions available to all users, not only to the admins...but that would lead to people using more and more the webpage, for adding/moddifing/removing acceses, and for making settings to a channel, instead of havin` to remember a lot of x cmds...and i think that would slow up the site pretty bad, don`t u think ?

It would obviously slow up the site, but it depends if the officials think if it's NECESSARY to enable them? ERrrr, first of all, some of those options should relaly be for admins only. The ones with the * ( asterick) I don't see why it's that big of an issue??? when you can do this via an IRC Program... pointless completely.[/quote]
