how about having a wiki.undernet.org ?
where users can edit it. history their channels, their irc lives ... etc
its also useful as it could provide lots of information about anything related to irc.

And it would also be abused. That's my opinion. ;)

you have some few lines of history on http://cservice.undernet.org/live about your username of channel(s).
now what would stop users writeing lies about their channels in an official website like this one you are talking about ? My opinion is that only officials should give this kind of infos and this if its strictly needed.

wikipedia itself is open to the public so ..
well, there is another way. is to allow channel owners to create a page and update it. there are thousands of ways.. that is not the issue. the main issue is: is undernet interested web projects?

Stefanoo, that's a great idea, i don't think it would be too hard to implement... the cserv username and passwd could be used to login...

thing to remember, Undernet is an IRC network, not a website.

That would be great I think.
But the wiki should have permissions enabled so that it doesn't get screwed up by spammers...
