How it is that some users instead of IP adress in info has something.users.undernet.org ? What is this?

if you have an registered username, you could hide your ip into undernet virtual hostmask which is *!*@username.users.undernet.org ; using /mode nickname_goes_here +x the command has to be typed after you are logged in to X otherwise it won't take any effects, if you type it before.

That is wrong. You can also set usermode +x first and then log in to X and get the hidden host.
