 Post subject: [General] Xchat client scripting

Dear community

i am in need of a little help i recently downloaded xchat for my system complied it but there is one thing missing i don't any documentation on scripting with python does anyone here use python for scripting purposes in xchat if so i would really like your insight on a few things.

Dunno if this works, but here are a few example Python scripts for XChat :: http://www.gnuenterprise.org/doc/xchat/scripts-python/ .
Also, Python is not the only language XChat recognizes for scripting! (but it is the easiest to learn).

Yeah but for some reason there isn't hardly any support for the language anymore when it comes to xchat scripting.

What would you suggest is a better supported scripting language i can use in xchat that would allow me more interaction with other xchat users or scripters of that particualar language via a forum news groups etc....

Any suggestions????

For the Win32 version of XChat, Perl is the language of choice for scripting. If I remember correctly XChat was created more under the wing of perl support rather then any other language for scripting.

uhm, I suggest to update your xchat, coz mine supports phyton, perl and tcl :)
