I control a large mp3 channel, and we are being attacked daily by spam bots, is undernet ever going to do something about it? Or will this server become another DALnet to be overran by spam, and eventually died off?

Any tips to combat the bots, would be appreciated, dont think undernet cares to much bout it.

Isn`t a host ban enough? Or atleast try to report them in #zT ..We face spam daily..what would u want CService to do about it? they`r g-line`ing spam bots daily..do you know a better way of solving this problem? This subject has been already discussed.

when i stated ways to combat the spam, there are ways, such as the vanilla script that detects all telenet bots and removes them, perhaps someone got smart and found a pattern to ban them by.

You need to read the Undernet's Accepted Use Policy for an insightful overview of what you're entitled when connecting to the Undernet and what you are not.

Be aware that you're dealing with mp3 public exchange which is forbidden by most, if not all, the Undernet servers. So, I'd say expect no help with this and that you're at your own risk here

The Undernet's AUP is here: http://www.user-com.undernet.org//documents/aup.php

Another one that is off the topic, is this topic directed towards mp3? or spam?

MetalGod501, spam bots are a widespread problem most IRC networks have to deal with, you're not the only one with this problem. The point is you're using the network for an illegal activity, therefore while the Undernet keeps up with its unmoderated environment, you're riding for a fall and risking life and limb. You're all on your own here.

As this topic's been treated repeated times through the forums, I lock it away hoping you search, read and follow up with previous discussed and related topics.
